Hawaii -
That
name
conjures
up
visions
of palm
trees
and surf
and
coconuts
to most
people,
but to
us it
means
Boer
Goats!
Manny
Ramaya
from
Maui and
his
friend
Chris
Bernabe
who
lives in
Hilo, on
Hawaii,
the big
island,
have
both
bought
goats
from us,
beginning
so long
ago we
were
selling
half-bloods,
the
first
product
of the
Boer
imports.
All the
billy
goats
that you
see in
these
pictures
have
gone as
sires
into
meat
goat
herds,
either
to
friends
of Manny
or Manny
himself.

During the Tyler sale, Manny called on the Goat Rancher phone since all the other numbers were tied up and ordered "a herd"! He wanted a bunch of fullbloods to keep on the land where he lives so he could relax in the evening after a strenuous day of supervising house construction and look at his goats. He got his bunch, but I don't have any pictures of them except a baby picture of one major nanny who went and a picture of Bravo, sometimes known as "Porkchop", one of those wonder billies from Hickory. Bravo was supposed to be in Tyler, but got left home accidentally. |

If you decide to fly into Hawaii to bring home a Boer Goat, you'll have to call us so we can put you in touch with our extended family over there. They'll be asleep when you are awake.
