In June at the first show we went to this
year, the judge said about all of our entries
"This goat is not in show condition." And went
by him/her to put a fat, shiny goat in the
winning places. OK. They really weren't as
fat, shiny and well-prepared as the other
goats there. We went home and fed those goats
heavy, taught them to lead and did all we
could for months to keep their feet trimmed
and keep their hair in shape. Our
results in November at the second show were
patriotic - all red, white and blue ribbons!
